ABOUT ERIC
     Eric Ornelas is a radio host, mix show producer, nightclub DJ, music
columnist, and
Billboard reporter. He specializes in electronic dance music and
pop music video (
both current and classic). Eric has performed in many exciting
locations such as Las Vegas, Miami, San Diego, and Los Angeles, and currently
maintains night club residencies at his home base in Palm Springs, California.
     Since 1998 Eric has been a fixture at KKUU-FM in Palm Springs where he
produces and hosts two specialty programs - the "Pure Energy Mix Show" and
the "Old School Menu Mix." Additionally, Eric's dance sets are now heard
worldwide on Internet radio station iDanceRadio.fm.
     In 2008
Billboard magazine added Eric to its panel of reporting DJ's whose
submissions shape the publication's national
dance music/club play chart. In
2010, Eric added the title of journalist to his resume when he began writing a
music column published
in Pulp magazine.
     Eric enjoys giving back to his local community by donating his DJ services
for charity events and fund raisers. Eric has recently played for organizations
such as the Desert Aids Project, Equality California, and the Riverside County
Sheriff’s Department.
     In addition, Eric attends California State University, San Bernardino, where
he is working toward a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Media Communication.

Palm Spring's Pulp Magazine in June
2008.
In 2007 Eric appeared on-camera with recording artist Paul Lekakis in
this remixed music video marking the 20-year anniversary of Paul's
1987 classic hit, "Boom, Boom, Boom (Let's Go Back To My Room).
Look for Eric as the shirtless DJ.

KMIR-TV (NBC, PALM SPRINGS)

In 2008 Eric appeared on the
KMIR - TV6 morning newscast. The
interview was broadcast live to
channel 6 viewers from the DJ booth
at El Destino Nightclub in Indio, CA

In 2003 Eric was also heard on-air at KKUU's
now defunct sister station, STAR 106.9. Eric
hosted the afternoon drive shift, Monday through
Friday from 2 - 6pm. In this photo Eric is seen
during a live remote broadcast with street team
member Patrick Tish (Patrick is now on-air at
93.7 KCLB). STAR 108.9 flipped to classic rock
and became "The Eagle" in January 2004.
In August of 1998 Eric joined the mix team at the
"all-new U-92." His first mix show was called the "Six
O' Clock Six Mix." It aired Monday through Friday
from 6 - 6:30pm. The Sunday Night Groove Mix
followed in 1999, airing from 8pm - Midnight. In 2004
the Groove Mix was moved to Saturday night and
renamed Pure Energy. Beyond mix shows, Eric also
has worked as a weekend and fill-in jock at KKUU.
